จะ/ ja + verb = willSàwàt dii kâ,In this blog we will learn Future tense in Thai language. Action that occur in the future can be described using the pattern

                            จะ / jà + Verb ( Phrases )

Example:

1.พรุ่งนี้เขาจะไปภูเก็ต

Prûng-níi  káo jà bpai Phuket.

Tomorrow he/she will go to Phuket.

2.เย็นนี้ฉันจะไปดูหนัง

Yenníi chán jàbpai duu năng

This evening I will go to see a movie.

3.วันนี้เขาจะไม่มาโรงเรียน

Wan-níi  káo jà mâi maa roong-rian .

Today he/she won’t come to school.

Learn Thai Grammar: กำลัง /gam-lang/ + Verb

Learn Thai Grammar  the word กำลัง /gam-lang/

ฉันกำลังหิว /chán gam-lang hǐo/ I am hungry.

 

กำลัง /gam-lang/ is a particle to add in front of a verb to indicate the action is on-going. It is similar to English ‘be’ plus verb with ‘-ing’.

For Example

ไป /bpai/                       = go                  กำลังไป /gam-lang bpai/                          = (be) going

มา /maa/                       = come              กำลังมา /gam-lang maa/                          = (be) coming

กิน /gin/                         = to eat             กำลังกิน /gam-lang gin/                            = (be) eating

เรียน /rian/                      = to learn          กำลังเรียน /gam-lang rian/                        = (be) learning

ทำงาน /tam-ngaan/         = to work           กำลังทำงาน /gam-lang tam-ngaan/            = (be) working

 

1) พวกเขากำลังไปที่นั่น /pûak-káo gam-lang bpai tîi nân/

= They are going there.

2) เขากำลังมา /káo gam-lang maa/

= He(She) is coming.

3) ฉัน(ผม)กำลังกินข้าว /chán(pǒm) gam-lang gin kâao/

= I am eating.

4) พวกเรากำลังเรียนภาษาไทย /pûak-rao gam-lang rian paa-sǎa tai/

= We are learning Thai.

5) เขากำลังทำงาน /káo gam-lang tam-ngaan/

= She(He) is working.

Learn Thai: The Word ไว้ /wái/

The word ‘ไว้ /wái/’ means to keep or to save. It occurs after a verb of action, or verb phrase, to convey the idea that the action is being done for future use or reference:

Verb (Phrase) + ไว้ /wái/

For example;

ฉันจะเก็บไว้กินพรุ่งนี้ /chán jà gèp wái gin prûng-níi/

= I’ll keep it to eat tomorrow.

ฝากของไว้ที่นี่ได้ไหม /fàak kɔ̌ɔng wái tîi nîi dâai mái/

= Can I leave my things here?

เราจองตั๋วไว้แล้ว /rao jɔɔng dtǔa wái lɛ́ɛo/

= We’ve booked tickets already.

เขาซื้อไว้อ่านวันหลัง /káo súu wái àan wan lǎng/

= He/She bought it to read another day.

เอาไว้วันหลัง /ao wái wan lǎng/

= Let’s put it off to another day.

Learn Thai: Prepositions with the word “ข้าง /kâang/”

ข้าง /kâang/ + Preposition

The following prepositions can all be prefixed by ข้าง /kâang/ mean ‘side’ is usually dropped:

  • ใน /nai/     = in
  • นอก /nͻ̂ͻk/     = outside of
  • บน /bon/     = on, on top of; upstairs
  • ล่าง /lâang/     = underneath; downstairs
  • หน้า /nâa/     = in front of
  • หลัง /lǎng/     = behind
  • ข้าง /kâang/     = by the side of

However, when a noun or noun phrase follows the preposition, ข้าง /kâang/ is usually dropped:

  • มันอยู่ในรถ /man yùu nai rót/     = It is in the car.
  • เขาอยู่หลังบ้าน /káo yùu lǎng bâan/     = She is behind the house.

But if no noun follows the preposition, ข้าง /kâang/ cannot be dropped:

  • ผมอยู่ข้างนอก /pǒm yùu kâang nͻ̂ͻk/     = I am outside.
  • เขาอยู่ข้างบน /káo yùu kâang bon/     = He is upstairs.

ตั้งแต่ Sàwàt dii kâ, Hi everyone in this blog we will learn to say “  Since , From “ in Thai language . When “ From “ identifies the beginning  of a period of time is  “  dtâng-dtɛ̀ɛ/ตั้งแต่ / Since ,From “

The pattern is :                                                                                                                                 

            Dtâng-dtɛ̀ɛ/ตั้งแต่  + Time Word  + túng  +  Time Word

 

1.chán tam-ngaan dtâng-dtɛ̀ɛ gâao-moong cháao tung  hòk moong yen.

   ฉันทำงานตั้งแต่เก้าโมงเช้าถึงหกโมงเย็น

  I work from 9 am till 6 pm.

 

2. káo rian paa-săa  Thai dtâng-dtɛ̀ɛ  sìp moong cháao tung tîang.

   เขาเรียนภาษาไทยตั้งแต่สิบโมงเช้าถึงเที่ยง

   He/She study Thai from 10 am – 12 pm .

 

3.dtâng-dtɛ̀ɛ cháao tung yen.

    ตั้งแต่เช้าถึงเย็น

   From morning till evening .
