Valentine’s Day(วันวาเลนทน์ /wan waa-len-taai/) is one of the popular celebration for young people in Thailand. Even more than the west, Thai teenagers and young adults are madly in love with Valentine’s Day. Boys will buy bouquets of roses for their girlfriends, or some cute dolls. Girls will buy chocolate, candy, or small gifts for their boyfriends. Or friends will buy some chocolate and candy or small gifts for friends too.
Every shopping mall will set stalls to sell flowers, Valentine’s Day balloons, stuffed animals and chocolate. They’re often surrounded by Thai girls, trying to decide what they’re going to buy for boyfriends, love interests and friends.
Many couple will go to register their marriages at municipal offices in Bangkok district of Bang Rak (บางรัก), which can be translated as “Love Area” and they believe that it is a very good name for their marriage.
Here are some sweet romantic phrases that you can use with your lover in Valentine’s Day!
ผม/ ฉันคิดถึงคุณ [pǒm / chán kít-tǔng kun]
= I miss you
รักคุณมาก [rák kun mâak] 
= I love you so much
รักนะเด็กโง่ [rák ná dèk ngôh]
= Love you, silly girl
คุณน่ารักจังเลย [kun nâa-rák jang-lәәi]

แต่งงานกับผม/ ฉันได้ไหม [dtɛ̀ɛng-ngaan gàp pǒm/ chán dâi mái?]
= Will you marry me?
